ASHES to ASHES  •  A Folk Odyssey with Sally Schaefer & Tyler Bagwell

A folk music odyssey through life, death, resurrection, and rebirth, with reference to Carnival, Shrovetide, and Easter, Celtic feast days, Ostara, and other springtime celebrations, by way of folk songs old and new.

Featuring songs from an array of folk music traditions, including blues, bluegrass, heartland roots, Acadian, Welsh & Irish music, as well as original pieces reflecting the spirit of the season.

About Sally Schaefer – Sally Schaefer is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with classical background in piano, violin, and voice and master’s degrees in ethnomusicology and library science. She is best known for her work as a Buffalo-based violinist in genres as diverse as Americana, Celtic music, rock, hip hop, polka, and punk. 

About Tyler Bagwell – Tyler Bagwell is a musician, historian, folk singer, and storyteller; singing tales about people and adventures from Buffalo’s history. He has a broad collection of songs and stories, and his own compositions are reflective of narrative folk writing styles emphasizing his interest to local history.
