Thursday • March 21st | doors at 6:30pm | 21+ with valid ID

Pre-event tix may be found HERE.

The Spring Equinox; a time of awakening, and rebirth. The dark months are now over and it’s time to move into the light. Lighting candles are one of the rituals to welcome the spring — Join us and observe the Equinox with a live, all-candlelit performance by Sally Schaefer (violin & vocals), and Katherine Berquist (harp). Gather together for an evening of ambient, gothic, and haunting music as a celebration.

There will be seasonal cocktails and Zero Proof drinks at the bar curated for this special evening.

Please take note of the level ticket you are selecting prior to purchasing, and that all ticket holders are 21+, and will have valid ID at the performance.

Sally Schaefer is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist with classical background in piano, violin, and voice, and master’s degrees in ethnomusicology and library science. She is best known for her work as a Buffalo-based violinist in genres as diverse as Americana, Celtic music, rock, hip hop, polka, and punk, playing alongside local artists Tyler Bagwell, Creek Bend bluegrass, Buffalo Bluegrass Allstars, McCarthyizm, Celtic Spirit Pipe Band, Over & Out, and as a touring musician with popular alternative rock band 10,000 Maniacs. Her ethnomusicology research has focused on Americana and Celtic folk music, particularly Welsh traditional music, which she studied while pursuing her ethnomusicology master’s degree at Cardiff University in Cardiff, Wales.

Katherine Berquist is a professional harpist and Suzuki harp, piano, and early childhood music instructor. A Western New York native, Katherine found a passion for music that she pursued, performing with local orchestras such as the Amherst Chamber Ensemble, the Genesee Symphony Orchestra, and the Orchard Park Symphony Orchestra, and for special events as a solo harpist. Katherine then continued her musical studies at the SUNY Fredonia School of Music as well as the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY where she graduated in 2015. Now back in Buffalo, Katherine is loving performing locally in orchestra settings, musicals, weddings, and special events.

This event is 21+, and valid ID required at the door.
