Gothic Immortal is an event that we created several years ago so guests may experience a musical experience in an all-candlelit environment; to focus on the performances by the musicians. Typically we stage these events around a solstice or equinox, but this time, we are having it to welcome the transitional month of May.
For this Gothic Immortal we have Artemis X (guitar & vocals) performing with Vanessa Snowden (violin), Alex Cousins (cello), and Lena Caggiano (vocals). Gather together for a celebration of ambient, gothic, and haunting music.
There will be seasonal cocktails, Zero Proof drinks, and small plate apps at the bar curated for this special evening.
About Artemis X: Once a fixture of Buffalo’s pre-goth 80s scene, Artemis has traveled the world on a river of music, capturing Eastern and European scales in her net. She writes and chooses songs that reflect her Poe-tic nature; haunting melodies that capture the essence of the Baroque, Nola dirge, 80s dark wave, southern gothic and triphop. She writes books and – until recently — held weekly concerts in Egypt bringing together international musicians of all races and faiths uniting in the shared language of human emotion.
About Vanessa Snowden: A classically-trained violinist based in Buffalo, NY in the midst of exploring new genres and instruments. Vanessa was born in Caracas, Venezuela and raised in Buffalo, NY. she grew up playing the violin, writing stories, and listening to lots of salsa and classical music. Vanessa stepped away from her creative pursuits for many years but has happily found her way back. She is now reveling in exploring her roots and inspirations by getting back to the violin, and teaching herself piano.
About Alex Cousins: Alex Cousins is a multi-genre cellist who is active in a multitude of projects in the Western New York area. He is especially passionate about pioneering the Electric Cello in a wide variety of creative avenues.
