The first Thursday of the month is May 4th… MAY. THE. FOURTH! so of course we have to proudly wave our nerd flag high in honor of STAR WARS.

Celebrate with us! We will have cocktails and a zero proof menu (plus food!) inspired by a galaxy far, far away; projecting the Star Wars movies on our walls (not the ones they made in the 90s, and we are not sorry we are avoiding these while celebrating); are encouraging our guests to dress as their ultimate Star Wars being; and – most importantly — asking guests to bring their fave vinyl to spin, like we do on the first Thursday of every month.

We never have a theme, but for this night, the theme is Sci-fi / Trippy / Weird / Out of this World – think Air’s “Moon Safari” or Björk’s “Homogenic” – or maybe you have the soundtrack to Star Wars(!!!)… or, simply, an album you would take with you on a voyage to Saturn because you want to listen to it over and over and over again (fact: it takes 26 months to make the trip).

So… Bring your chosen vinyl to spin, and we will play the one side you deem as THE side. MAY THE FOURTH BE WITH YOU – see you then!

BONUS: Our fantastic equally nerdy neighbors up the street at The Merry Shelley (1122 Hertel Avenue) are also celebrating! They’ll have a Star Wars playlist, drink / food specials, and encouraging guests to dress per theme, too!

What is this event? It’s bringing your “can’t live without” vinyl and heading to The Lounge between 6:00pm and 11:00pm the first Thursday of the month. Here you will hang with other vinyl-philes, we will listen to one side of each other’s faves (but which side?), and then have friendly discussions (or spirited debates, but never intense arguments) over why your selections are must–haves for every music lover’s collection. 

Bonus… each participant receives a checklist to fill-out of the ingredients we have on-hand behind the bar that night (think sushi restaurant menu forms). Checkmark the ingredients you think would be in the cocktail that best represents the vinyl you brought – and give this a creative name! Hand in your sheet, and we will announce the participants’ creations. Everyone in attendance votes on a winner, and our amazing mixologists create the cocktail (and a Zero Proof version of it), making it available for $10. at our bar that night. 

Additional motivation for creativity… the winner receives a $20. gift card to Black Dots Records & Bar – because they have a super cool independently operated space that ticks all the “everything music” boxes.
